Non-Destructive Evaluation of Preload Loss of Bolted Spherical Joints Based on Time Reversal Acoustics: A Numerical Simulation

چکیده

Bolted spherical joints are widely used in space grid structures. However, the preload loss, which may arise from fabrication error, insufficient twist of screw and some other unknown reasons can undermine structural integrity even lead to collapse whole structure. Therefore, a method for evaluating status bolted is vital health monitoring To this end, non-destructive evaluation loss based on time reversal acoustics (TRA) presented. In method, an excited signal generated by zirconate titanate (PZT) patch at sphere reconstructed after recorded another PZT bar time-reversed re-emitted. The deviation initial allows identification joint. This demonstrated be effective finite element simulation. Furthermore, effect joint its ultimate flexural capacity studied, highlights necessity evaluation.

Time Reversal Techniques in Non Destructive Testing

The objective of this paper is to show that time-reversal invariance can be exploited in acoustics to create a variety of new methods in non-destructive testing. Two different approaches will be discussed. The first one is the iterative time reversal process. It is an adaptive technique that can be used to detect flaws in complex samples with arrays of transducers. A second technique will also ...

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...
